VoIP Home Phones
A revolution in home phones has been started by the VoIP phones that allow you to make calls over the Internet which incur no charges with BT or the phone company that you are with and so essentially offer free phone calls.
The VoIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol or Voice Over IP for short and is the routing of phone calls over the Internet instead of the domestic phone network. To use a VoIP home phone you need a computer that is connected to the Internet and a VoIP account such as Skype and when you have this account you can contact other people that use that service.
VoIP phones used to be just connected to your PC but now you can buy proper home phones including cordless phones that use the VoIP service such as Skype. They are connected to your broadband connection and so just need to be set up and once you have done this you do not need to connect them to your computer again.
So VoIP home phones are just as easy to use as normal home phones but offer free calls to your friends and family that also have a VoIP phone with a Skype account. And a great thing is that many VoIP home phones can also use the standard phone network to make normal calls to people that do not have a VoIP phone and so these phones are ideal as you get the best of both worlds.
There are plenty of VoIP home phones that you can buy online and we have displayed the ones that we found online on the right with the cheap deals first.
